Las Vegas Raiders Score High Grades in NFLPA Report Card and Survey
The Las Vegas Raiders have been making strides to improve their team facilities and position themselves for success in the 2023 NFL season. Their efforts have not gone unnoticed, as the NFLPA recently released its report card and survey on team facilities, ranking the Raiders as the third-best team in the league.
Methodology:
The NFLPA's report card and survey were created to help free agents understand each team better. In March 2023, the NFLPA sent out a questionnaire to every player on 2023 rosters, asking for input on their current teams. A total of 1,300 players responded to the survey, which highlights the following factors:
- Family Treatment: B (T-12th)
- Food Service / Nutrition: A- (T-5th)
- Weight Room: A+ (T-1st)
- Strength Staff: A+ (T-1st)
- Training Room: A (T-4th)
- Training Staff: B+ (T-22nd)
- Locker Room: A+ (T-1st)
- Travel: A+ (T-1st)
Areas for Improvement:
While the Raiders scored well in most categories, the coaching staff was the lowest graded category. Player respondents felt that head coach Josh McDaniels was less likely to listen to his players and kept them for longer hours than other head coaches around the league. However, longer hours are not necessarily correlated with winning, as seven of the top eight coaches rated as being most efficient with their players' time in the 2022 survey made the playoffs this year. Albeit this was Josh McDaniels first year with the Raiders and there is much to learn from and build upon, but can Josh McDaniels' formula for 'success' actually translate into more wins in Vegas this upcoming season ?
